Permanent Lighting Ideas for Every Holiday

One of the best things about permanent LED lighting is that it is not just for Christmas. With RGBW LEDs and app control, you can change your colours for every holiday, season, or occasion — without climbing a ladder. Here are ideas for every holiday throughout the year.

Christmas (December)

This is the obvious one. Warm white for a classic look. Red and green for the traditional Christmas feel. Or go bold with multi-colour animations — chasing patterns, twinkling effects, and colour gradients. The app lets you save presets, so your Christmas setup is one tap away next year.

New Year (January 1)

Gold and white for a classy New Year look. Or a countdown animation that counts down the seconds to midnight. The individually addressable pixels mean you can create patterns that move along your roofline — like a fireworks effect.

Valentine Day (February 14)

Pink and red. A slow pulse effect — gentle fading between the two colours — looks elegant without being over the top. Your home stands out in the neighbourhood without looking like a novelty display.

St. Patrick Day (March 17)

Green. Solid green, or a green-and-white pattern. This is where the true warm white chip matters — a green-only RGB strip looks artificial. With RGBW, you get a clean green with a crisp white accent.

Easter (April)

Pastels — soft pink, light blue, lavender, and pale yellow. The dedicated white chip in RGBW LEDs makes pastels look right. RGB-only strips cannot produce true pastels because they have no white LED. This is one of the biggest advantages of the system we install.

Canada Day (July 1)

Red and white. A chasing pattern that alternates red and white along the roofline looks great for a party. Or a slow fade between the two. Your home is the best-looking on the block for July 1.

Halloween (October 31)

Orange and purple. A flickering effect that mimics candlelight gives your home a spooky look. Or a slow, eerie purple-to-orange fade. Halloween is one of the most fun holidays to program — the effects you can create are limited only by your imagination.

Remembrance Day (November 11)

Red. Solid red, dimmed low. A respectful, understated look.

Everyday Warm White

This is what most of our clients use 90% of the time. A warm white — 2700K to 3000K — that makes your home look inviting without looking like a holiday display. It is subtle enough for everyday use, and it makes your home stand out in the best way.

Scheduling and Presets

The app lets you save presets for each holiday and schedule them to activate automatically. You can set your Christmas colours to turn on December 1 and switch back to warm white on January 6. You can set Canada Day colours for July 1. Once you set it up, you never have to think about it again.

The Possibilities Are Endless

These are just starting points. Because every pixel is individually addressable, you can create custom patterns, gradients, chases, and animations. Some of our clients have created sports team colours for game days, school colours for graduation, and even wedding colours for events at their home.
